You are expected to review the textbook prior to the start of the course. Continuing Medical Education The Wilderness Medical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians (students) should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Wilderness Medical Society and AdventureMed. The Wilderness Medical Society is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. All AWLS faculty have signed disclosure statements indicating that they have no relevant financial relationships with any course sponsors. Clothing and Other Equipment Southeast Michigan can be quite warm and humid in the summer time. The course will be held rain or shine, so participants should bring rain-gear to account for unexpected precipitation. All equipment and supplies for the hands-on teaching sessions will be provided. If able, please bring a tarp, sleeping bag, camping backpack, hiking poles, and a form of rope/webbing for litter making/tourniquet tying. This will enhance your learning experience. Matthaei Botanical Gardens The University of Michigan's Matthaei Botanical Gardens is regarded as one of Ann Arbor's greatest nature destinations. Located on Ann Arbor's east side, the Botanical Gardens is a 300 acre property containing numerous formal gardens, a 10,000+ square foot indoor conservatory, and miles of hiking and discovery trails. Continue east on Plymouth Road for approximately 1.5 miles then turn right onto Dixboro Road. The Gardens will be on your left after approximately 1 mile.. From I-275 Exit I-275 at M-14. Exit M-14 at US-23 South (Toledo). Exit US-23 at Plymouth Road (exit 41). Turn left onto Plymouth Road. Continue east on Plymouth Road for approximately 1.5 miles then turn right onto Dixboro Road. The Gardens will be on your left after approximately 1 mile.. From I-94 Exit I-94 at US-23 North (Flint). Exit US-23 at Geddes Road. Turn right onto Geddes Road. Continue east on Geddes Road for approximately .1 miles then turn left onto Dixboro Road.
